General Information

Who we are -

HSBSNJ is comprised of homeschooled students ages 10 - 18 from central and southern NJ.  HSBSNJ does not discriminate and accepts all homeschooled students with a love for music.  HSBSNJ offers woodwind, brass and percussion instrumental instruction from beginner through advanced levels.  We are starting a recorder ensemble in September 2010 for students ages 8 - 10.

HSBSNJ rehearses Monday afternoons (see Band Descriptions for specific times).

How many sessions do we have -

HSBSNJ has a Fall Session (Sept. - Dec.) and a Spring Session (Jan. to May) each ending with a concert.  Our first rehearsal is September 13, 2010.  See Calendar.

What do we charge -

Tuition will be posted.

Do we require private lessons -

Private lessons are not a requirement to be in band, however private lessons are strongly encouraged. A student will generally progress faster and develop better playing habits through taking private lessons. Practice. Daily practice is required of all band members. Beginners should practice minimum 30 minutes a day to start! Intermediate & Advanced players should practice at least 45 minutes a day (5 days a week).
