Concert Band - Directed by Mr. Smith
Designed for the more advanced student musician, Concert Band students will learn ensemble pieces that expand their musicianship.  Concert band members perform concerts in December and May and have other opportunities to perform during the Fall and Spring Sessions. 
Rehearsals are Mondays 1:00 - 3:30 pm.

Apprentice Band - Directed by Mrs. Milne
Intermediate level students will begin to transition from Beginner Band to Concert Band.  During performances the Apprentice Band members will join the Concert Band on pieces which are appropriate for their skill level. 
Rehearsals are Mondays 2:30 - 3:30 pm.

Beginner Band - Directed by Mrs. Milne
No experience necessary! Students ages 10 and up are enthusiastically instructed from square one helping them develop their fledgling music abilities.  Consultation with Mrs. Milne is highly recommended before deciding which instrument may be best for your child.
Rehearsals are Mondays 1:30 - 2:30 pm.

Beginner Recorder Ensemble - Directed by Mrs. Milne
This fall HSBSJ will be adding a beginning recorder ensemble to their established band program.  Open to 8-10 year olds, this class will provide an introduction to basic music theory, ensemble playing and general music education.  This will be a great way for younger students to get their feet wet with an instrument without the expense of renting one.  Classes will meet on Mondays from 12:45 - 1:30 pm and students may also have an opportunity to participate in the HSBSJ winter and spring concerts as well as some community outreach concerts.
